著名舞蹈藝術家，其獨特的“孔雀舞”聞名世界。1992年，她成為中國大陸第一位赴臺灣表演的舞蹈家。1994年，獨舞《雀之靈》榮獲中華民族20世紀舞蹈經典作品金獎。1998年第22屆蒙特利爾國際電影節上榮獲評委會特別大獎。2003年，楊麗萍任原生態歌舞《云南映象》總編導及主演。2009年，編導并主演《云南映像》姊妹篇《云南的響聲》，再獲成功。在2012年央視春晚以舞蹈《雀之戀》，再展舞蹈詩人的風姿。多年來她出訪世界很多國家進行藝術交流，相繼在菲律賓、新加坡、俄羅斯、美國、德國、法國、英國、比利時、荷蘭、意大利、加拿大、巴西、阿根廷、智利、澳大利亞、新西蘭、日本、臺灣等30多個國家和地區舉行專場舞蹈晚會，演出上千場，對中華舞蹈藝術的傳播與發展做出了卓越貢獻，她的人生成就將永久載入華人榜的榮譽史冊。
 

Famous artist in dancing，and her unique “Peacock Dance” is famous around the world. In 1992, she became the first mainland dancer to perform in Taiwan; in 1994, the solo “Spirit of the Peacock” won the gold medal of classic dance of the 20th century in China; in 1998, she won the Special Prize of the Judging Panel in the 22nd International Film Festival of Montreal; in 2003, Yang Liping became the general director and protagonist of the original ecological dance “Yunnan Impression”; in 2009, she directed and starred “the Sound of Yunnan”-- companion volume of “Yunnan Impression” and gained success again; and in 2012, she showed the grace of the dance poet with the dance “Love of the Peacock” in Spring Festival Gala on CCTV. Over the years, she has visited many countries for cultural exchanges, and she has held special dancing evenings in the Philippines, Singapore, Russia, the United States, Germany, France, Great Britain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Taiwan and other 30 countries and regions with thousands of performances successively, making outstanding contributions to the spread and development of the art of Chinese dance. Her life achievements will be recorded in the Who is Who of outstanding Chinese in Cambridge World.
